MEGALITHIC LORELINDU TOURS

Megalithic Lorelindu tours in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, these are cultural-adventure trips focused on the ancient megalithic sites scattered around Lore Lindu National Park.

The main megalithic areas are:

Bada Valley (Lore Bada) — famous for large human-like stone statues, including Palindo, as well as stone vessels called kalamba.
Besoa Valley — particularly the Pokekea archaeological site, with statues, kalamba, menhirs and other stone structures.
Napu Valley — another major concentration of megalithic remains, surrounded by mountain scenery and traditional villages.

Bada Valley (Lembah Bada) is a highland valley in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi, and one of the three great megalithic landscapes of the Lore region.

The landscape consists of : Rice fields and agricultural land, Grasslands, Forest, Mountain slopes, Rivers and streams, Small villages and scattered megalithic monuments.

The statues aren’t generally hidden inside buildings or displayed in a museum. They stand outside, among fields, vegetation and villages, where they have remained part of the landscape for generations.

The Megalithic in Bada valley consist are : Palindo, Langke Bulawa, Oba, Tadulako, Maturu, also Kalamba and Stone grave monument.

Besoa Valley is particularly famous for its large stone statues, kalamba, stone graves, menhirs, and other enigmatic stone monuments scattered across an open valley surrounded by mountains.

The landscape

Besoa Valley is a broad, elevated valley surrounded by forested mountains.

Much of the valley is covered by grassland, agricultural fields, scattered trees, streams and small settlements.

The megaliths in Besoa, aren’t concentrated in one archaeological park but they are distributed across the landscape.

We can visit a huge stone figure standing in a field, a group of kalamba beside vegetation, or a mysterious carved stone near the village.

The megalithic consist here : Tadulako, Pokekea, Pada Masorah, Mpangasa, Oba, Maturu, Vatunonju, Tengko Megalith, Taipa Megalith, Wineki etc.

Napu Valley – is a destination for travelers interested in “ancient stones in a living landscape.” It is less about a single spectacular monument and more about experiencing an entire highland cultural landscape within the Lore Lindu region.

Napu Valley – as an open-air archaeological landscape rather than simply a collection of old stones.

Day 01: Palu arrival – Napu Valley

We will meet you, on arrival in SIS Al Jufrie Palu for early morning arrival 06.00 am. And from airport we will drive you by comfortable aircondition car, and directly going to Napu Valley. We drive about 3 – 4 hours. Breakfast, lunch will have on our way. On arrival check in at one of the homestay. Afternoon visiting the village where located Watulumu megalith, Pekatelinga megalith and Pakasele and Watunongko. Return to homestay. Dinner at loocal restaurant.

Day 02 : Napu valley – Besoa Valley

After breakfast we are check out from the homestay and then going to visit Tengko megalith, Watumega, Lempe, and Padang Masora. Lunch on arrival in Besoa. Check in homestay in the village.

Day 03 : Besoa valley – Napu Valley

After breakfast, we are check out and going to Hanggira village, Wineki also Taipa, Bariri. To see another megalthic. Lunch en route and after lunch we are return to Napu Valley. Afternoon arrival, free at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04: Besoa valley – Tentena.

Breakfast at homestay, check out and depart Napu, to Tentena. On the way there will be a great Panoramo to have memorable pictures. Lunch at Poso city. Afternoon arrive in Tentena. If time posible, we will visit the Saluopa waterfall. Overnight stay and dinner, will serve at Poso lake restaurant.

Day 05 : Tentena – Bada valley

Breakfast at cottage, and drive you to Bada Valley. On the way there are some places to stop for pictures. Before check in we are going to visit the megalithic site. Afternoon check in at one of the homestay in Bada.

Day 06 : Megalithic Bada Valley

After breakfast full day trekking to visit Megalithic statue at Bada valley, looking for the local people make bark cloth, walk through grassland, rice terrace and beautiful traditional village. Lunch will be served on the way. Return to homestay.

Day 07 : Bada valley and Surroundings

Bada valley is famous for many statues of megalithic stone and today trips is visiting the megalith area across the valley’s rice field panorama and grass land view. The Lariang river is passed by us through the swing bridge or local language called Jembatan Gantung.

Day 08 : Bada valley – Tentena

After breakfast, we will drive + 2-3 hours to Tentena town, before we out from Bada, we might stop in Malei to do a soft hiking. Continue driving to Tentena, on arrive will check in resort in Tentena. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 09 : Tentena – Palu

Breakfast at resort and we drive to Palu city, about 7 – 8 hours. On the way can stop for destinations. Afternoon arrive and check in at hotel in the city. Lunch in Toboli town. From this place we will drive about 60-70 km to reach Palu. On the way we might to meet with the Macaque groups.

Day 10 : Hotel – Airport

After breakfast, we have free at leisure untill your time departure. Take you to the airport according to your flight schedule and destinations.
